Enough of the pranks against Ndi Anioma in Lagos State chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo. It’s as a result of this apathy against us that many factions sprung up in Lagos State.
When the immediate past President General of Ohaneze in the person of Chief John Nnia Nwodo disrespected and rejected the report of the peace committee led by his deputy, which recommended that Anioma should be allowed to take there turn of Lagos State leadership rotation bases as it is done at the national level, came to Lagos for a town hall meeting that was never one, that he killed the unity on the association.
Apst Nwanze Patrick made this known in a speech he delivered at the Concerned Anioma in Diaspora (CAD) dinner which took place at Sheraton Hotels Lagos with the theme “ANIOMA VOICE MUST BE HEARD IN LAGOS. on the 4th of April, 2021.
The full text of his statement reads in part.
Not only that he commercialized the election process and open doors for unpopular electoral acts, charlatans to flood the apex Ndigbo body in Lagos State.
I indicated an interest in the office of the State President, not for myself but to bring Anioma to the front line of Ndigbo affairs in Lagos State.
But I came to sense when Anioma was given ten delegates as against twenty given to other State contestants, yet each contestant is to pay N500000.00 each for the presidential form.
I backed out for the Eboyi candidate to win. Before now, Anambra, Imo, and Abia have ruled for twenty-five years with Anambra having the lion’s share of the tenor.
If indeed Anioma is recognized as Ndigbo, let them be given their chance.
We can not accept this act of being marginalized. Rotation must be maintained at the State level as it’s done at the national.
Let it be in the record that I’m not fighting for myself, far from that, rather in the capacity of the President General of Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc,
I will take up my sword of Justice, equity, and fairness to engage anyone who wants to push any Anioma interested indigenes out of the equation.
I call on all sons and daughters of Aniona in Lagos to stand up for what is ours. Don’t sell our rights. We have all it takes to lead. We will back Enugu State after our tenor takes over.
Am using this opportunity to also called on the new PG to correct the wrongs of the past regime starting with enforcing rotation of leadership.
Thanks to an opinion leader in the Enugu people in Lagos State, chief Agubata Magnus, for standing firm for justice.
A pillar in Umunne Anor (Four brothers namely, Anioma, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Rivers ) #Rotation or nothing. Anioma must be allowed this time around or we back out of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
