The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has urged the outgoing Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Nigeria, Muhammad Shanim Ashan, to tap from the experience of the Nigerian Army in its fight against insurgency, in the North East.
COAS made this known at a farewell visit by the high commissioner of the Republic of Bangladesh to the army headquarter in Abuja
buratai said there is a lot to be learned by the outgoing envoy, especially the army’s counter-insurgency war, and the setting up of the Nigeria Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a view to enhancing defense and economic cooperation’s, among the two nations
Speaking earlier, the outgoing High Commissioner of the Republic of Bangladesh muhammad Ashan said his stay in Nigeria has been wonderful as a diplomat and key significant successes have been recorded in bilateral relationships between his country and Nigeria.
