The Joint Border Operations Drill (JBOD) Sector 3 in charge of the North Central States has seized a total sum of N53, 158, 143 worth of goods from smugglers in 5 weeks.
The newly deployed Coordinator of team, Comptroller. Olugboyega Peters revealed this during a press briefing in Ilorin the Kwara State capital.
He noted that part of the strategies deployed against all forms of smuggling, human trafficking, and proliferation of arms and ammunition led to 65 seizures of different items along Babana, Chikanda, and Wawa axis in Niger State which includes four single barrel of the rifle, 1, 643 bags of foreign rice, and a suspect was arrested.
The Comptroller however appealed to Nigerians, especially members of the business communities to assume the duty of border drill as an opportunity to further create a conducive environment for local businesses
Meanwhile, Comptroller Olugboyega Peters assured residents of the zone of the team’s readiness to continue waging war against smugglers in the Zone.
