How Gunmen attacks Fulani settlement, kidnap housewife

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of Thursday kidnapped a housewife, Sadiya Badamasi, at the senior staff quarters in Abaji town, Abuja.

It was learnt that the kidnappers, who were in groups launched simultaneous attacks on residents of the workers quarters and a Fulani settlement at Kekeshi in the area.

The resident, who sought anonymity, stated the abductors invaded his home at about 12 am through a small gate in the house.

He said the kidnappers shot in different directions to deter security agents and vigilante members from engaging them.

He stated they destroyed the burglary proof on the window with bullets before abducting the woman, while the husband and kids hid in the bathroom. Bullet shells littered the compound of the victim’s house when our reporter visited.

It was gathered that men of the Division of State Security Service (DSSS) who reside only meters away from the scene did not respond to the attack.

It was, reliably gathered that the abductors struck after they received information that vigilantes at the senior staff quarters had withdrawn due to non-payment of their monthly stipend by the residents.

One other resident, who additionally most popular anonymity, stated vigilantes engaged the abductors in a shoot out on the Fulani settlement, forcing the kidnappers to flee.

“They didn’t succeed when they invaded a Fulani settlement at Kekeshi,” he stated.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, stated she would get back to our reporter but didn’t at the time of filing this report.
