PGAN Grants Sports Festival ‘Holiday’ For Ladies In Special Training in Edo


A reprieve has been granted to ladies on Professional Golfers’ Asso­ciation (PGA) of Nigeria Qualifying School Special Training to participate in the forthcoming National Sports Festival (NSF) billed for Benin City Edo State cap­ital in April 2021.

The body through its Sec­retary, Jide Bolaji, disclosed this development was stated, simply because it also revealed that sales and submission of forms for the coaching programme would end on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Nevertheless, it was additionally re­vealed that no trainee would be allowed to take part in a tournament except kitty even as the trainees can solely participate in the NSF event.
Recalled that a number of the trainees have registered to represent their various states before the NSF was unavoidably postponed from 2020 to 2021 owing to the Coronavirus pandemic.

“The body feels it’s only pure and human to permit those who have been regis­tered for the NSF to be giv­en a holiday to participate, we don’t want to deny them that opportunity,” the Secretary stated.
Meanwhile, the PGA of Nigeria has maintained that trainees who are unsuccess­ful at the end of the coaching would be encouraged to re­turn to their amateur cate­gory.

Bolaji concluded, “All in­terested applicants should take note that there would be no late submission and sales of forms; everything will end by Wednesday, March 31.”
