A former assistant manager in the Department of State Services (DSS) Dennis Amachree states the secret police advised the Nigerian authorities and the National Assembly of these previous extremist viewpoints of the ministry of communications and electronic market, Isa Pantami, before his confirmation as a ministry in 2019.

Mr Amachree stated on Wednesday that the National Assembly went on to affirm Pantami, a Gombe State indigene, as a minister because of plenty of factors including national character reconciliation.

“We’re happy if unbelievers are murdered,” Pantami formerly said as an Islamic scholar and cleric.

The Roundtable the DSS has advice on all people of curiosity, including that the minister’s previous extremist views were hauled to the Federal Government and the legislature.

“There is not any advice that escapes the DSS, we’ve got it all, all. When I had been working, we maintain a catalog of anyone of attention that comes up into the limelight in this nation,” he explained.

“Throughout the vetting procedure for anyone to be appointed a minister or commissioner or whatever, your title is delivered into the State Security Service (SSS) for vetting. They assess up your background to the degree of your grandma. They assess up your schools to the degree of your main school. And needless to say, they keep a tab on you offline and online. We receive a great deal from open-source intelligence and that I will tell you in Pantami’s situation, we’ve got it.

When someone has been appointed, in the event the safety agencies see there is something incorrect with his title, they’ll send it in to the appointing agency. The appointing agency will decide amongst other factors religious variable, national character balancing factor, or political factor and state,’Oh, yes, we understand this man has this and that but let’s punish him’

“Thus, the governmental choice isn’t accepted by the SSS. Even once you go to the Senate for confirmation, there’s a celebration by party and you’ll be able to observe there are a few political judges the opposition party will state this one won’t be appointed but since he belongs to this party, they will penalize him. These are political and national balancing where they will say there is no one from this place that’s been appointed, so let us punish him.”

Amachree also promised the US was collecting information on Pantami.

The cataloguing of individuals isn’t automatic, but it comes in drips and drops,” he explained.

Now, they’ll do a deeper dive into his background. They will catalog him now they will begin watching him if it has to do with quite a critical level, they’ll put him in a no-fly zone”
