The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said that Nigeria risks losing the benefits listed on the COVID-19 pandemic due to the attitudes of several Nigerians who are now acting like the pandemic is over.

According to him, the cost that Nigerians will cover now to prevent any sudden increase in cases of COVID-19 will probably be worthwhile compared to the tremendous losses if they don’t act with care.

“The COVID-19 pandemic isn’t over.

“I’m appealing to all Nigerians to adhere to the measures in place to protect us and our nation.

“The pre and post-travel evaluations and self-isolation are very important. We have to do this to avoid sudden drastic steps that can also affect our economy.

“We now have several tools in place which were not here in the beginning of the pandemic.

“The Antigen-based Rapid Diagnostic Tests can be helpful in massive offices, colleges, camps and hospitals to rapidly test and reduce the risk of spread,” he explained.
