The All Progressives Congress (APC) has threatened to expose what it described as the antics of Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, to the Pope.
Mbaka had called on the National Assembly to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if he fails to resign over the increasing spate of insecurity in the nation.
The APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, in a statement on Friday, cautioned the clergy to cease “reckless feedback” that may trigger political and social instability within the nation.
“It’s unlucky that a man of God, who is meant to deploy all recognized spiritual technique of averting the crisis, is rather threatening democratically elected authorities for his personal private advantages while pretending to be talking for the people.
“One would surprise who Father Mbaka is emulating because the Lord Jesus Christ didn’t threaten to bring down the federal government during his own time. In fact, Jesus Christ obeyed and honoured constituted authority. That is why he paid his tax.
“We’re calling on Father Mbaka to focus on his spiritual calling and stop speaking like politicians, who it’s obvious he (Mbaka) has been eating and wining with.
“If Mbaka has discovered one other political ally, it’s better to leave a political message for politicians.
“Calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to either resign or be impeached due to the present challenges is ungodly.
‘Father Mbaka should not, however, take his luck too far as a result of there’s a lot to tell the Vatican and the Pope about his person and his sources of inspiration,” Nabena stated.
