The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed 1,207 personnel to secure citizens within the period of the Sallah celebration.
The personnel are to boost visibility policing throughout the 21 local government areas of the State and protect against crime while people go about feasting at the soul of the year.
According to a statement made available to newsmen Tuesday morning from the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu, arranged regular defence and visibility policing throughout the State, especially at the start of Sallah on Wednesday or even Thursday.
“The CP enjoins taxpayers to do the celebrations without any fear or worries,” the police statement said.
It added that the Divisional Police officers (DPOs), Operational Commanders as well as their ancestral Area commanders were directed to ensure the security and safety of the general public.
“The Strategic Officers will reinforce the visibility policing construction and execute confidence-building patrols particularly around residential areas, major highways and Government/Private infrastructures to prevent and detain any ugly situation,” he added.
