Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, stated that no Nigerian president has ever done what the current administration has since taking office in 2015.
The Information Minister, speaking to the media to mark the six-year anniversary of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
He said the government had decided to make a deliberate and conscious effort to publicize the government’s list of accomplishments through every available media tool in order to correct the record and shame those who accuse the government of doing nothing over the years.
“Never in our country’s history has any administration done as much with as little as the Buhari Administration has done,” Mohammed added.
“It’s easy to forget today, but when this administration took office in 2015, the price of crude oil, which accounts for 80% of Nigeria’s budgetary revenue and 95% of foreign exchange profits, plummeted, as did the government’s fund. As a result, despite the lack of resources, this administration has accomplished so much.
“While the security concerns confronting our country have received more attention in recent times, those issues are ephemeral and will not define President Muhammadu Buhari’s legacy,” he said.
“Let me state unequivocally that President Buhari’s legacy is secure, and his huge achievements in government will define his legacy.
The minister bragged that the roads, railroads, bridges, mass housing, port expansion, improved power supply, and other significant infrastructural development will last for centuries and will assist push economic growth and national development.
