A University of Calabar (UNICAL) final year law student has been proclaimed wanted for allegedly raping a minor.

The crime was allegedly conducted in a motel managed by the suspect, Emmanuel Friday Udofah, in State Housing Estate, Calabar Municipality.

The victim applied after the culprit posted a vacancy sign in front of the hotel, according to Cross River Watch.

The suspect allegedly forced her into one of the rooms and repeatedly assaulted her when she arrived for what was supposed to be an interview.

CP Sikiru Akande, the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, acknowledged the occurrence and warned residents and job seekers about fake job advertisements.

Barrister Ibor, the Principal Counsel of the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), denounced the crime and urged everyone to join the battle against child abuse.
