KIDNAPPING AND BANDITRY REDUCED THROUGH NIN REGISTRATION – Isa Pantami

Dr.Isa Pantami, Minister of Communication and Digital Economic has announced that kidnapping and banditry have been significantly curtailed since introducing the NIN registration policy.

Which has forced many Nigerians to get their office introduced the policy compelling Nigerians to get their National Identification Number.

This announcement was made by the Minister on Thursday, June 3, in the country’s capital. Stating what brought about the policy, he said;

Subsequently, we further directed the NCC to ensure that by end of September 2021, any sim not registered will be on our network. NCC as a regulator implemented that effectively.

He noted that from the end of September 2019 to 2020, it was observed that kidnapping and banditry had reduced to the minimum. It was a time that one can hardly stay without hearing about kidnap cases
