Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police has announced the immediate suspension of tinted vehicle windscreens in Nigeria.
The IGP announced at a meeting with senior police officers including commissioners and DIGs from across the states yesterday, June 7
He also restated that unauthorized roadblocks In the country remain prohibited and warned that heads of commands must enforce them and also adopt the road patrol strategy as an alternative to roadblocks.
Alkali further said that some of the suspects in police custody which include members of IPOB, kidnappers, and bandits have all confessed to committing some of the most vicious crimes in recent times.
He emphasized the need for the senior police officers to ensure discipline in their various commands.
Listing some of the successes recorded by the Police Force in the last two months, he said an arrest of over 600 suspects including persons believed to have attacked Governor Samuel Ortom earlier in March, was made.
