A police inspector was however killed in the raid, but the unknown gunmen were unable to burn down the station as they were strongly resisted by the officers on the ground.
A senior police officer speaking after the unfortunate incident told The Nation “We lost one Inspector today again”.

The source said the police commissioner, Chris Owolabi was preparing to visit the attacked station.

According to an eyewitness, the hoodlums came in three Sienna vehicles but were repelled by policemen on duty.

The eye witness also stated;
“We are in trouble in this state now, nobody knows which way to follow anymore. The problems and tension being created in Anambra are too much for us to bear.”
