The Federal Attorney General and Justice Minister, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, released these details to the newsmen on Tuesday. This information is available to the news.
The arrest followed a cooperative effort between Nigerian security services and Interpol, Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN’s, who communicated to journalists on Tuesday.
It was gathered that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Biaphra’s banned Indigenous People, IPOB, has been detained by the Federal Government.
However, the source showed that Kanu was detained on Sunday and taken back to Nigeria.
Malami also said that Kanu was being referred to the Federal High Court in Abuja for further prosecution of terrorist charges and treasonable crime, illegal ownership of firearms, and the conduct of an illegal society.
Nigeria’s news agency reported that the leader of the IPOB was brought before the Federal High Court’s Judge, Mr. Binta Nyako, in Abuja.
