The intra-party crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress in Kwara State has taken a new dimension as the Minister of Information and Culture,
Lai Mohammed threatened that the forthcoming party wards, local, and state Congresses will not hold in the State if the National body fails to send another team to revalidate some members loyal to his faction of the APC in the state who were previously denied revalidation
Mohammed disclosed this in Ilorin the Kwara State capital during the official opening of the State Secretariat built by the Bashir Bolarinwa faction of the APC
The Minister who frowned at the APC membership/revalidation exercise led by the Mai Mala Buni team sent to the State said the whole exercise was marred by several irregularities
Speaking on the controversy over the alleged diverted campaign fund to the tune of one hundred million nairas, Mohammed alleged that Representative Raheem Ajuloopin and other APC stakeholders diverted the fund for their personal use.
Meanwhile, the indicted member of the House of Representatives, Raheem Ajuloopin, and 22 members of the state House of Assembly have denied the allegation calling for sanction of Lai Mohammed for misleading the public over the issue.
The political space in the State is already tensed as the bid for the re-election of the incumbent Governor in the 2023 election is already generating controversy among the different factions.
