It was indeed a unique show of solidarity when the Ndigbo in Amuwo Odofin gathered at a recent forum in the prestigious emirate hall, to back the political ambition of their daughter, Hon. Amb. Ashara Maureen Chika (Ugosimba).
The event also was used as an avenue to raise funds for the politician who will be pairing with the chairmanship candidate of that LGA, Hon.Engr.Valentine Buraimoh in the coming election as Vice Chairman, brought party bigwigs, traditional/royal leaders, businessmen and women, great political trendsetters in Amuwo and beyond together.
The chairman of the occasion, High Chief Chibuzo, welcomed and appreciated everyone present, and acknowledged the presence of the Chairman of the Igbo Stakeholders Forum, Lagos State, Prince Nixon Okwara.
While delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Forum, thanked the Lagos APC leadership for placing the Igbos in perspective in the political calculation, a situation he assured will make Ndigbo change the voting matrix.
Okwara also stressed that Ndigbo everywhere is conscious of their great backgrounds and origin, thus are always ruled by the penchant to be valued, loved, and respected.
He also urged the emerging leaders to remain focused and not distracted by cynics and critics.
He however finally thanked the APC Ndigbo Campaign Organisation of Amuwo Odofin for empowering Ashara to become the Vice Chairman, expressing happiness that Ndigbo will always align with projects that serve their interest especially those that relate with the Nigerian project because they are powerful stakeholders.
The incoming Vice-chairman, also took the podium to state her happiness, appreciation to the party, members, Ndigbo, and assured that she will give her best while operating an open door policy.
She also sought continuous support from Ndigbo, promising that this type of gathering will metamorphose into town hall meetings that will be used to discuss developments.
Hon. Buraimoh the incoming chairman finally took the stage and reigned encomiums on the organizers, assuring them of an all-inclusive leadership that will create opportunities.
, He also thanked all the dignitaries and royal fathers for their amazing solidarity, urging that the task to build Nigeria is a collective one, the reason he said must make us achieve greater unity.
