2023: Buhari Has A Preferred Presidential Candidate – Adesina

Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, claims his boss has a favored candidate to replace him in 2023, but he won’t identify who it is.

On Thursday, Adesina revealed the news in an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today.

So far, Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation; Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta; Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment; Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation; and Emeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, have all entered the presidential race on the APC platform (APC).

Adesina, who stated that he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke about the ASUU strike and how keen the president is to fix the matter.

“When the president was asked whether he had a preferred candidate in a prior interview, he responded yes; but, he would not disclose him because harm may befall that person,” Adesina stated.

“That demonstrates that the president is involved in the process and has a favored candidate; however, whether he would impose his candidate for president is unclear at this point.”

According to Adesina, if certain ministers quit, the president may opt to replace specific positions based on the president’s recent demand that political appointees resign by May 16.
