Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labor and Employment, has explained why he can’t support or campaign for any of the four leading presidential candidates.
Ngige said why on Tuesday in his hometown of Alor, which is in the Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He did this while giving gifts to people in the area from his foundation.
Ngige is a member of the All Progressives Party. He said that all four of the presidential candidates are his friends and that he has worked with each of them at some point. Because of this, he said he couldn’t choose which one to vote for.
The minister said that Peter Obi of the Labour Party was his brother and that Atiku Abubakar, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party were his close friends.

So, he urged Nigerians to vote for the right candidate who would be able to help them after a careful look at their platforms and past records.
He said, “The four leading candidates are good people with relevant experience in federal and state government.”
“They are my friends, and I know them well. They have helped me in some way or another in the past.
“My brother is Peter Obi, who is in the Labour Party. His local government is right next to mine, and he is my successor in everything. I know too much about him. I know what he can do.
“When I was taken, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who used to be Vice President, was in charge of the country. He was filling in for Mr. President, who was at that time in Maputo. He ordered my reinstatement. We were both members of the National Economic Council, whose head he is. Together with Asiwaju, we set up the Action Congress.
“APC leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also a good friend of mine and a political ally. He helped us a lot when we were governor and things were hard. We started AC as a group. We worked together in ACN, and the Action Congress of Nigeria made me the only opposition senator in the eastern region. He is not a stranger to me.
“I’m also friends with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the NNPP. I knew him when he was Agunwa Anaekwe’s vice speaker in the federal House of Representatives in 1991. Because we were both in APC, I know him.

“I think the Nigerian people should vote the right way. Let the people of Nigeria look at them and their plans and vote based on what they think is best for the country.
“I don’t think I’ll go around and campaign for A, B, or C. I’m not going to do that. It’s not what I do for a living. I don’t go from one party to the next. But even so, I do have a conscience, and I will protect it and make sure I don’t hurt it.”
