47-year-old woman arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband to death for impregnating his mistress


Operatives of Ogun Police Command have detained a 47-year-old housewife, Olanshile Nasirudeen for allegedly stabbing her husband, Jimoh Nasirudeen, to death in Ijebu-Ode, for impregnating his mistress.

It was gathered that the defendant who’s the fourth wife to the 51-year senior husband was arrested, following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer at Obalende divisional headquarters, Ijebu — Ode.

The suspect, a co-butcher using the deceased, reportedly sighted her husband’s mistress in the abattoir and challenged her (new lover) for becoming pregnant for the guy.

It was learnt, resulted in a heated debate between the dead person and his fourth wife that caught a knife and allegedly stabbed the husband in the leg, then cutting a vein.

The husband was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital for first aid and later moved to Ijebu- Ode General hospital, where he died from excessive bleeding.

The spokesman of the control, Abimbola Oyeyemi told newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta that following the distress call, the DPO Obalende branch, Murphy Salami, directed his men to the spectacle, but the suspect had fled before their arrival.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was then arrested in her hideout at the Mobalufon area of Ijebu — Ode.

“On interrogation, the defendant, who was the fourth wife of the deceased, claimed that it was her husband who first slapped her because she requested his new wife her assignment at her market rack,” a Police publicist lent the defendant as saying.

Oyeyemi said the remains of the husband had been published to the family for burial in line with Islamic rights after an autopsy had been carried out.

He also quoted the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun to have ordered the immediate transfer of the defendant into the homicide part of the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
