The first half game against Leeds was a very tremendous one indeed. The turn out of the reds to score goals and follow the tactics of the coach was very nice.
Pogba skins his man on the left flank, getting past him and putting the ball on a plate for anyone in the six-yard box. Cristiano Ronaldo is there, the ball ever so slightly behind him, and it’s a surprise for all to not see the net bulge.
Harry Maguire’s goal
The captain of the United team netted a very wonderful goal after lots of counter attacks and dribble across all the Leeds defenders in the goal post. The goal keeper became extremely confused on how the ball got past him after Harry Maguire heads home a Luke Shaw delivered inswinging corner kick from the right side.
Fernandes doubles our lead
It’s a brilliant run forward from Victor Lindelof, the Swedish centre-back storming forward. Jadon Sancho takes the ball off him and produces an excellent, delicate cross onto the head of Bruno Fernandes. He directs it powerfully downwards past Meslier. A great time to score!
An excellent first half
The weather has been atrocious, United certainly have not been. The lead is doubled just before the break and the noise from our travelling supporters is enormous.
Paul Pogba has been the stand-out player on the pitch, offering composure and quality. The defining moments of quality have come from the captain Harry Maguire, with an excellent header, and Sancho and Fernandes, the cross from the former and the well-directed header from the latter.
Ralf Rangnick will be delighted with how his side have responded to the conditions and the atmosphere.
