Bandits: Residents raise alarm over Turji’s planned retaliation attack

Following the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) bombardment of hia camps in Zamfara forest, security operatives have been warned that dreaded bandit kingpin Bello Turji’s gangs may launch retaliatory attacks on Gusau-Sokoto-Zaria roads.
According to a source who did not want his name published for security reasons, the gangs may stage retaliatory attacks in response to the killing of scores of bandits in the forest.

“Please be cautious, bandits are currently in the Tureta-Anka axis area.” “Hundreds of cows were rustled from Birisawa village and were heading towards Mallanji village in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State,” the source said.

Commuters on the Sokoto-Gusau Tsafe-Funtua road should avoid those areas for the time being, according to the source.
Remember that just a few days ago, two Nigeria Air Force (NAF) fighter jets attacked Turji’s camps and killed dozens of bandits in Zamfara forest?

Military and police operatives, on the other hand, have vowed to engage the bandits in a fire for fire operation, stating that they were prepared to carry war to the bandits’ dens in the forests.

Mr. Kolo Yusuf, the State Commissioner of Police, recently told reporters during a press conference that he came to Zamfara State not to play but to demonstrate superiority and professionalism to the bandits.
“Most of my assignments in my police carrier have been total gun battle with terrorists and bandits. So I am sending a red signal to them that it will no longer be business as usual,” he added.
