Breaking: Delta signs MoU to host National Youth Games over next four years
The Delta State Government and the Federal Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to host the National Youth Games (NYGs) for the next four years.
Chief Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, signed the dotted lines at the ceremony, which took place at Government House Asaba, while Governor Ifeanyi Okowa signed for the state government.
During the ceremony, the minister, who was overjoyed, stated that Delta State had become a hub for sports development, praising the state for its perseverance in developing talent.
“Without a doubt, Delta State has become the home of sports in Nigeria, and they have made enormous contributions to the development of sports in Nigeria.”
“I am pleased to report that the Delta State Government has contributed to sports development over the last four years, and in the most recent NSF, they demonstrated that they are serious about doing so by organizing very robust games.”
“For the next four years, Delta has graciously agreed to host the National Youth Games.” Delta is a talent hub for our sports and a beacon for sports development.
“You know, they won’t bloom unless you nurture them.” This is why we are so pleased with Delta. “I am delighted that, with the signing of this MoU, our young talents will find refuge in Delta State for the next four years, and I am confident that our sports will flourish as a result,” he said.

Governor Okowa spoke at the event, thanking the minister for his commitment to sports development and stating that the state is excited to host the National Youth Games for the next four years.
“I thank God for what we are witnessing this morning, and I thank you (minister) for the outstanding work you have done to improve sports in the country.”
“We appreciate your partnership with Delta.” We are pleased to sign this Memorandum of Understanding to host the NYGs over the next four years, and we thank the Hon. Minister for his support of the youth games.
“We are excited to host these games for the next four years because we believe in catching them young.”
