To celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the country’s independence, the Federal Government has proclaimed Monday, October 3 as a public holiday.
The Federal Government’s proclamation was made by Interior Minister Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Aregbesola greeted all Nigerians on the occasion and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to overcoming all national obstacles and bringing happiness to all citizens. “The world is facing serious economic and security difficulties, which have also had an impact on our country. The administration will not give up on the people, nevertheless, and will continue to face all of these difficulties with all the might at our disposal until relief comes our way, the Minister of State assured everyone.

The exceptional position of Nigeria in the comity of countries was acknowledged in a statement signed by the Minister’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore. If we put in the necessary effort as a people, he claimed, greatness is ahead for the nation. “Nigeria is without a doubt the leading black nation in the world, Africa’s pride, and a beacon of hope because of its warmth, welcoming spirit, and love, as well as because of its untapped human capital and its wealth of land. We will become the greatest nation on earth if we can unite to realize our potential.
Nigerians, according to Aregbesola, “are sparkling like diamonds in the pack, whether in academia, science and technology, business, innovation, music, entertainment, fashion, or culture. We are a country of over 200 million people, and our natural talents, grit, and passion glitter like the precious diamond that we are.”
