Buhari appoints Chief Ameh, as Chairman Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic


President Muhammad Buhari has approved the appointment of Benue-born Chief (Dr.) Sylva Ameh, as Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, Enugu State.

This was contained in a statement from the Director of Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Bem Goong, on behalf of the Presidency.

The Polytechnic was one of the few institutions of higher learning established by the federal government recently throughout the country, to further enhance the caliber of learning of fellow pupils, while decreasing the issues experienced by most in securing admissions to the few existing colleges.

In a letter of congratulations signed by Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Hon. Samuel Odagboyi Godday, the lawmaker described Chief Ameh’s appointment as”a well-deserved call to national service”.

He said the abundance of experience of Chief Ameh from the civil service, where he rose to the status of Federal Director and retired gallantly with stature, would undoubtedly bring about the growth and evolution of the recently recognized Polytechnic.

“As you pick up this significant national mission, I emphasise that your experiences are found impactful to the overall growth and evolution of the Federal Polytechnic, Ohodo, Enugu State, while wishing you a blissful tenure ahead”, Hon. Godday said.

Chief Ameh, a Member of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Institute For Oil Palm Research, Benin, is a retired Federal Director of Finance and Accounts, Federal Ministry of Finance, he has also served in various managerial abilities in eleven Federal Ministries, for example, Works and Housing, Health, Education in Addition to Petroleum, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), among others, and finally retired meritoriously in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.
