Man charged with murdering woman in Broadwater, Busselton

A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder over the death of a 38-year-old woman in the Western Australian town of Busselton last week.
Police allege the woman was killed on the evening of Thursday, April 11.

Officers found her body when they conducted a welfare check at a home in the suburb of Broadwater the day after.

It is alleged the man and woman knew each other, although police are not sure of their exact relationship.

“Just after 8pm on Friday, 12 April 2024 police attended a residence on Bell Drive to conduct a welfare check,” WA Police said yesterday.

“During a check of the home, they located the deceased woman.

“The charged man and the deceased were known to each other but the exact nature of the relationship at this time is unclear.

“The investigation is ongoing and a woman is still assisting detectives with their inquiries.”

Police have issued a public appeal for help in their investigation into the alleged murder.

“Homicide detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw, or has dash-cam vision, of a man and a woman holding a toddler, riding an e-scooter from Busselton to Margaret River between 6pm Thursday and 8pm Friday, 12 April 2024,” they said.

The man was scheduled to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court today.
