Chelsea press conference LIVE: Thomas Tuchel on takeover, protest, Rudiger, team news, Brentford

Chelsea return to Premier League action tomorrow as they take on Brentford at Stamford Bridge – and there is a protest planned ahead of the game against the Ricketts family’s bid to purchase the club from Roman Abramovich

Good morning and welcome to live coverage of Thomas Tuchel’s pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Brentford.

The international break didn’t come at an ideal time for the Blues given they had won six games on the bounce and had built up momentum ahead of the season run-in. Tuchel will hope that can be recaptured instantly when the Bees visit Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon.

What the break did enable, however, was Reece James, Andreas Christensen and Callum Hudson-Odoi to return to first-team training after their respective injuries. We will get the latest from Tuchel as to whether the trio are in contention to face Brentford and will also get the other team news from the German.

Tuchel will, of course, also face questions about the takeover for Chelsea. During the international break, four bidders were shortlisted and one of those, the Ricketts family, has faced stern opposition from supporters. A protest against their proposed takeover is planned by supporters ahead of tomorrow’s game.

We will bring you the very latest from Tuchel’s press conference via our Chelsea correspondent Adam Newson. Live updates will appear below throughout the afternoon and a full transcript will be uploaded to the website soon after the Blues head coach has faced the media.
