Matthew Onegara, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Congress in Delta State, said on Friday that the congress would take place in the state.
While speaking to reporters in Asaba, Onegara said, “the party is aware of the Court ruling,” adding that the court ruling “only barred Prophet Jones Erue, the party’s state chairman from presiding over Congress, not party officials from the national headquarters.”
According to him, all members of the APC should adhere to the law during Congress.
“We’re going to do everything we can to make this a free and fair Congress,” he said.
Guaranteeing that the Congress materials would be distributed in all local government areas by the committee
Even though a court injunction was sought to halt the Congress, Sylvester lmonima, party publicity secretary, said that preparations for the event were in full swing.
