Allegations that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, referred to Kashim Shettima, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential running mate, as the party’s presidential candidate have prompted a response from the former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode.
In a recent meeting, Fani-Kayode claimed Lawan never referred to Shettima as the APC’s presidential candidate.
In response, he tweeted, “Met yesterday with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Yobe State, including the presidential candidate of our great party, Senator Kashim Shettima.” The message was attributed to the Senate President.
Fani-Kayode, though, called the tweet a fabrication.
Fani-Kayode said it was the work of the opposition in tweet.
I wonder how desperate the opposition and their online trolls can become, he wrote.
The below-posted tweet is a complete fabrication and a blatant lie.
Sen. Kashim Shettima, our vice presidential candidate, was NEVER mentioned to as our presidential candidate by the Senate President.
