In a statement, the Nigerian government confirmed that the country’s Twitter ban remains in place.
Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, the chairman of Nigeria’s Communications Commission, made this known to the public.
Nigerians claimed they had gained access to Twitter without using VPNs, which Dr. Adinde denied.
On June 4, 2021, the Nigerian government banned Twitter indefinitely after a tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari was deleted.
Buhari had been accused of violating the rules of the social media giant.
