Obi Cubana, a well-known Nigerian businessman, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was released after spending three nights in custody at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja after allegedly being involved in money laundering and tax fraud.
According to our information, the businessman was released on November 4 after being detained for three days.
This latest development was confirmed by the commission’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who stated that Obi Cubana was allowed to leave after the commission finished questioning him.
This also comes after several reports that he was released a few days ago; however, the commission came out to refute these reports and explain why Cubana was still in custody.
Obi Cubana was in the news prior to his arrest because of the lavish funeral he organized for his mother.
He even created a diamond pendant with his mother’s face, which cost more than N15 million.
