Udaba-Ekphei, Anegbette, Ukpeko Orle, Ofukpo, Agbabu, Osomegbe, Udochi, Yelwa, Ake Island, and Ifeku Islay are some of the communities that have been impacted.
Twelve communities in the Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State have been wiped out by flooding as a result of the River Niger overflowing its banks as a result of rain. Residents of these communities are now trapped.
Udaba-Ekphei, Anegbette, Ukpeko Orle, Ofukpo, Agbabu, Osomegbe, Udochi, Yelwa, Ake Island, and Ifeku Islay are some of the communities that have been impacted.
Residents of these towns were forced to evacuate their homes because the water level in the majority of the communities reached a level that was higher than the window level of their homes.
Canoes were used to transport people against their will.

The catastrophic floods have entirely obliterated a wide variety of agricultural products, including rice, cassava, vegetables, potatoes, ground nuts, and many more.
Residents said that schools, marketplaces, mosques, and churches had all been destroyed by the storm and appealed to the state and federal administrations for assistance.
The flood, according to Mr. Isaac Omoaka, a member of the Udaba hamlet, was worse than the storm that occurred in 2012.
The people are appealing to all levels of government, including the federal, state, and municipal levels, to come to their assistance before the devastation caused by the flood begins to claim people’s lives in large numbers.
Isaac Omoaka said that his town had been entirely flooded. I have lived my entire life without ever coming across something like that. This year’s flood is ten times worse than the one that occurred in 2012.
“We have a distinguished son who established schools, a hospital complete with a morgue, laboratory, and x-ray, and numerous other facilities; all of them are now beneath the water,” our family member said.
Osasere Evboumwan, the Commissioner for Special Duties for the State of Edo, made the following statement: “We were at Etsako Central last Friday; myself, NEMA, SEMA, the Head of Local Government Administration, WHO, and others.”

“Right now, we are in the process of delivering our report to see how we can best help them.
“The water has washed away their fields; this flood occurs once a year, and NEMA has stated that the only way to stop it is to dredge the River Niger; otherwise, it will continue to take place.”
We are going to be providing food for them as an emergency answer; the IDP center in Ogomeri is dry and there are amenities there; nevertheless, the folks are hesitant to go there.
“We are preparing the IDP for them; there are mattresses there; there is a generator there; there is a refrigerator there, and there is a kitchen there; after that, we will beef up at the medical center.”
