Gabriel Jesus wants to join Spanish giants Real Madrid if recent reports are to be believed.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the Manchester City frontman and technical director Edu has held talks with the player’s representatives in recent months.

Chelsea are also said to be interested in the Brazilian international following Romelu Lukaku’s disappointing 2021/22 campaign in west London.

Now, Spanish outlet SERDeportivos have reported that the player prefers a move to the Bernabeu, with Real boss Carlo Ancelotti also said to be keen on signing the 25-year-old this summer.

However, it is claimed that Los Blancos cannot complete a deal for Jesus until fellow Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior gets a Spanish passport, with the reigning UEFA Champions League winners already at the maximum amount of non-European players permitted by La Liga.

Jesus, who netted 13 goals and provided a further 12 assists across all competitions last season, has been coy when quizzed on his future in Manchester, admitting that he is taking his time before deciding where to play. “I’m fine, calm. Calm, as I always was. Always looking for the best for me, for my career,” he said last month.

“I’ve never been one to throw myself into a project without knowing it. And that’s what I’m going to do. Now I’m focused on the national team, but as of Tuesday, I start thinking about my future.”

The versatile forward is now into the final 13 months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, with no signs of him extending his stay at the club.
