If elected, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has pledged to stop police violence and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strikes.
At a rally for his presidential campaign yesterday in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, Obi spoke.
He said that he would safeguard, unify, and let the rule of law triumph and that his administration would stop the country’s growing insecurity.

Police brutality will never be accepted by my government. Make no mistake: ASUU will never go on strike. We’ll make sure that instead of becoming a consumption-based economy, we become a productive economy.
The tourism hub of Nigeria, Cross River State, will once again be a thriving industry.
Obi promised that “above all, we will see to it that the Calabar Port is made to become lively in order to divert commercial flow to the state.”
