From suspected oil vandals in the Badagry region of the state, the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has seized 21,600 liters of Premium Motor Spirit, often known as gasoline.
The anti-vandal and maritime team of the Badagry division reportedly found 720 kegs containing 30 liters of gasoline while on a surveillance patrol on Tuesday night at 11 p.m.
According to information obtained, the interception occurred near Yafin Creek as the alleged vandals were attempting to sneak fuel into the Benin Republic.
According to sources, the vandals, who had been active in the region for some time, fled after men from the NSCDC assaulted their hideout on Tuesday.
Chief Superintendent Akinyemi Ayodeji, the NSCDC’s Badagry Divisional Officer, estimated the worth of the recovered gasoline at N4m.

He further stated that the exhibits would be brought to the command’s headquarters in Alausa for more research.
Eweka Okoro, the NSCDC Commandant for Lagos State, confirmed the event in a statement released by Olumide Abolurin, the command’s public relations officer, on Thursday.
The vandals had been identified, Okoro added, adding that arrests will soon be made.
