On Sunday night, when Col. Lawal Rabi’u Yandoto (rtd) was traveling from Gusau, the state capital, to Yandoto, his hometown in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, armed gunmen kidnapped him.
Two of his children and two additional persons were taken hostage, according to a source, along with him.
“The bandits ambushed the rtd. Col. at around 6:00 on Sunday evening and kidnapped him together with his two children and two other victims,” he claimed.
He described how many were forced to flee because there were intermittent gunshots extremely near to Yandoto town. After the bandits fled and his car was discovered to be empty, he claimed Yandoto’s kidnapping was discovered.
