Faleye Abiola, age 29, was brought before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, Nigeria, on charges that he stole 15 wristwatches with a combined value of N15 million as well as a MacBook Laptop.
The police arrested Abiola on suspicion of stealing, breaking and entering, and causing intentional damage. Abiola’s location was not provided. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charge. [Not guilty plea]

The attorney for the prosecution, ASP Clément Okuoimose, informed the court that the defendant was responsible for the crime that was perpetrated on October 8 at around 11 p.m. at Sanctuary Sail Harbour Resort, which is located in Ago-Ajo village, Epeme, Iworo region of Lagos.
According to Okuoimose, the defendant is accused of breaking into the home of the complainant, Olurotimi Adewumi, and stealing property.
He said that the defendant took a box that included more than 15 valuable wristwatches, a MacBook Laptop valued at N1.1 million, five cable wire phone chargers, and an external hard drive, among other items.
According to him, the defendant was also responsible for breaking a glass door valued at N15,000
According to him, the offense was a violation of the requirements of sections 309, 287, and 399 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, which was enacted in 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Fadahunsi Adefioye, approved the defendant’s request for bail in the amount of N2 million, with two sureties in the same amount.
He stated that one of the sureties is required to submit a letter of employment along with their identity card and proof that they have been tax-exempt for the past three years.
The judge, Adefioye, decided to postpone the matter to November 16 so that it might be mentioned.
