Manchester United: We must win Manchester City at all cost

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes acknowledges the Reds need to produce a better performance in next Sunday’s Premier League derby with Manchester City.

United were held to a 0-0 draw with Watford on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford, as Ralf Rangnick’s side dominated large parts of the proceedings but could not find a vital breakthrough goal.

Fernandes himself and Cristiano Ronaldo came closest to breaking the deadlock during our clash with the Hornets, but neither was able to convert the chances that were created and were otherwise thwarted by some resolute defending by the visitors.

Manchester United Preparation

The Reds now have a full week to prepare for the next domestic test, against current league leaders Manchester City, as we bid to continue our strong recent form in the Blues’ backyard.

United have won five of the last seven derbies at the Etihad Stadium, including last season’s visit when Fernandes was on target with an early penalty in an eventual 2-0 victory.

Previewing the 187th meeting between the two clubs, Bruno began: ”It’s one of those games where we know what it means for the city, for the fans, for the club and for ourselves.

“It’s a game we want to win at all costs.”
