Many Train Attack Victims Are Unaccounted For – Kaduna Government

Terrorists attacked a portion of the Kaduna-Abuja rail track on Monday, March 28, forcing the train, which had left Abuja at 6 p.m., to derail.

According to the Kaduna state government, several individuals slain in Monday’s train ambush by bandits are still missing.

Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, gave an update on the rescue operation, saying that eight bodies had been retrieved and that 26 others had been injured and were being treated.

According to Aruwan, 362 people boarded the train, according to a record received from the Nigerian Railway Corporation.

“The Kaduna State Government has received the detailed passenger manifest for the Abuja-Kaduna train service AK9, which was assaulted by terrorists on Monday, from the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).”

“According to the records acquired, 398 persons purchased tickets for the trip, but 362 were certified as having boarded through a recognized turnstile.

“The NRC employees and security officials who were on board are not listed on the passenger manifest.”

“In addition, security officials stated that eight bodies were found and 26 people were injured during the attack,” the statement continued. At the time of this update, investigations are still underway to determine the status of the individuals who were on board the train and are still missing. Search and rescue operations are also continuing.”
