Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Season for the fourth time in a row.
The 24-year-old has 28 league goals this season, helping the capital club win a record 11th French title.
The France forward is the only player to have won the award four times, tying Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s record.
PSG named four players: forwards Mbappe and Lionel Messi, as well as fullbacks Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi.
“I want to thank the players, the staff, and all the people working in the shadows,” Mbappe, 24, said.
“I’ve always wanted to make an impression. I didn’t expect to win so much so quickly, but I’m thrilled to be making history in my home country.”
Mbappe’s contract with PSG runs until 2024, with an option to extend it for another year.

“I’m happy and I’ll be here next season,” he said, without elaborating on whether he plans to stay at the club until 2025.
After a 1-1 draw at Racing Strasbourg on Saturday, PSG clinched the title with one game to spare.
Franck Haise was named the season’s best coach after leading RC Lens to second place, allowing the northern club to compete in the Champions League for the first time in 21 years.
“It’s a three-season story… “I don’t forget those who are no longer a part of this adventure,” said Haise, who took over the first team when they were in Ligue 2 in 2020.
“What we’ve been through is unforgettable.”
Lens also had four players named to the season’s team: goalkeeper Brice Samba, defender Kevin Danso, midfielder Seko Fofana, and striker Lois Openda, with Samba named best goalkeeper.
