Nigerian musicians, Burna Boy and Wizkid receive Grammy Awards


Nigerian musicians, Burna Boy and Wizkid received Grammy Awards for categories they were nominated in.

This was introduced by the Recording Academy on Sunday evening.

Burna Boy gained the Best Global Music Album category after being a nominee for a second consecutive year. The album “Twice as Tall” was nominated alongside albums corresponding to FU Chronicles by Antibalas, Agora by Bebel Gilberto and others.

Wizkid’s video with Beyonce, “Brown Skin Woman” won Best Music Video.

“I know to say one-day ego higher; I go carry grammy, because something wey higher requires planning,” Burna Boy tweeted after winning the award.

The 63rd Grammy Awards is being held in Los Angeles. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s edition had no viewers, and performers were separated into 5 stages, organized in a circle inside the Los Angeles Conference Center to maintain social distancing.
