Officers of the Nigerian Police Force from the Ogun State command have taken into custody a man named Mfon Jeremiah, who is 39 years old, on the allegation that he impregnated his daughter, who is 13 years old.
Jeremiah, who is a resident of FIRRO Estate, Off Adesan, Mowe, was arrested after the mother of the victim filed a case at the Mowe Police Divisional headquarters, as stated in a statement released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi.
Oyeyemi stated that the victim’s mother said that she discovered that her daughter was pregnant and that when she confronted the teenage girl to reveal the man responsible for the pregnancy, the daughter told her that it was her father who slept with her. In addition, the statement mentioned that the woman had been transported to the hospital, where it was established that she is currently four months pregnant.

Following the receipt of the report, the Mowe division immediately dispatched detectives to the residence of the suspect, where he was instantly taken into custody, the police stated.
“During questioning, the suspect admitted that he was responsible for his daughter being pregnant, but he claimed that he was under the influence of a spell at the time that he did it. He told the authorities that he had a dream in which he was having sex with his wife, even though they have been divorced for some time. The police were surprised to learn that the woman he had intercourse with was really her daughter.
Oyeyemi continued by saying, “In the meantime, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has instructed that the suspect be transferred to the anti-human trafficking and child labor section of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and maybe prosecution.”
