Violence broke out on Monday in the oil-producing town of Ugbuwangue in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, in conjunction with TotalEnergies, trained 300 women in the administration of a solar-powered chicken incubator.
The community women who had just attended a five-day workshop on increased local chicken production methods could not conceal their joy as the management of the NNPC started to distribute their testimonies and starter kits.

According to Arubi, who spoke on behalf of Bala Wunti, Group General Manager of NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, the completion of the project and its inauguration was a step toward the Nigerian government’s CSR operations that are carried out via the oil and gas business.
She made the announcement that going forward, our organization is committed to strongly advocating for the adoption of Sustainable Community Development programs that would better the lives of people living in this country.

In a manner that is analogous to this, the Business Development Manager at TotalEnergies, Moyosola Areola, stated the optimism that the commercial endeavor would boost food security and enable the women in the area to grow economically.
Clementina Arubi, a representative of the NNPC who was present at the event, said that the process for distribution, which would be carried out throughout the month of November this year and would be organized in batches, would continue until the end of the month.

Areola disclosed that the project for the women of the Ugbuwangue community in Warri was “the third phase of the poultry project, which we have successfully implemented in Biliri, Gombe State, and Sagamu in Ogun State, benefiting over 600 women and their families.” Areola stated that the project was “the third phase of the poultry project.” Areola was addressing on behalf of Mr. George Oguachuba, who holds the position of Executive Director of People & Country Services for TotalEnergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria.
