Officers from the Delta State Police Command detained three nurses at a private hospital in Asaba (name withheld) for allegedly removing a dead newborn baby’s eyes, nose, and ears.
After being pronounced dead by a pediatrician on Sunday, it was discovered that the hospital had released the deceased infant. However, the parents, who claimed that human parts had been removed, brought the youngster back to the facility yesterday.
According to a hospital source, the parents brought the infant to the facility on Sunday night. The pediatrician examined the kid right away and determined that the newborn was dead despite all attempts to revive him or her.

Surprisingly, today (Monday), the parents presented the infant after the hospital released them, claiming that they had removed the baby’s eyes, nose, and ears. They arrived at the hospital with the police and detained a few nurses.
The state command’s police public relations officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, verified the occurrence when he was contacted and stated that suspects had been detained.
“I haven’t been given the incident’s specifics, but it is accurate,” he stated. As far as we know, the baby was delivered to another hospital but was later transferred to the one where he or she passed away.
