Police Recover gun from two herdsmen involves in motorcycle Crash


The Kwali division of the FCT Police Command has recovered a locally made double barrel gun from two herdsmen involved in a motorcycle accident at Piri village, along the Abuja-Lokoja road.

A witness mentioned the accident occurred around 3 pm on Monday when the herdsmen had a back tyre burst on their way from Kwaita village to Yangoji.

“I was also riding on my bike when the 2 Fulani men ahead of me were involved in the accident after their back tyre burst. Police males on patrol who arrived at the scene to rescue them found a short gun wrapped in clothes inside a bag they were carrying,” he stated.

A police source at the Kwali division, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the recovery of a locally made double barrel gun from the bag of the 2 herdsmen.

“Actually, a locally made double barrel gun was recovered from the victims. And sadly, certainly, one of them who was riding the motorbike sustained critical injuries and later died at Rhema hospital in Kwali Monday night,” he stated.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, said she would make enquiries and get back to our reporter concerning the incident however she didn’t, at the time of filing the report.
