Real Madrid‘s acquisition of Kylian Mbappe is the only reason Paris Saint-Germain will sell the star player to Real Madrid.
As a condition for allowing Kylian Mbappe to join them, the club asked Real Madrid to increase their bid on Wednesday.
After initially refusing to sell the footballer, the French club changed its mind.
For a player PSG wanted to “keep”, Leonardo said the offer of around 160 million euros ($188 million) was “not enough.”
To AFP, the Brazilian said: “Our position has always been to keep Kylian, to renew his contract” which expires in June of next year
When asked about the club’s approach to the
France World Cup winner, he said respectfully, incorrectly, and illegally.
He went on to say that if Mbappe, 22, “wants to leave, we won’t keep him, but he will leave or stay on our terms. ”
Players who wish to leave the team will do so. As the Brazilian leader told some journalists, including AFP, “the club and the project will always come first.” Nevertheless, “we have done everything” to persuade him.
After paying 180 million euros to Monaco in 2017, PSG is eager for him to sign a new contract.
“There is no reason for Mbappe to do anything else,” club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said after Lionel Messi arrived in Paris earlier this month.
As of now, Mbappe has one goal and two assists in three appearances this season, with Messi expected to make his PSG debut on Sunday against Reims.
