Rapper, Ikechukwu, demands justice over teenage in-law’s death

Following the death of his wife’s cousin, Obinna Obiefuleh, Nigerian rapper Ikechukwu Onunaku has called for justice.

The deceased, a 14-year-old student at Queen of the Holy Innocent Secondary School in Imo State, was discovered dead, “beaten up and bruised” in the early hours of Thursday at the school’s boarding house, according to the rapper.

On Thursday, Ikechukwu posted a video of Obinna to his Instagram page, writing, “This is so so sad.” Obinna is my 14-year-old in-law and my wife’s cousin. This video was taken at my wedding. He was discovered dead in his school’s boarding house at 1 a.m.

“In the senior hostel, Queen of the Holy Innocent Secondary School Ogwume in Ideato LGA, class SS2. Bruised and battered.

“There are so many flaws in this story. And, to be honest, I’m tired of these occurrences. It has now arrived at my front door. “I implore every media outlet to help bring attention to the events surrounding this event, as well as any other event involving these children, whom we trust to be cared for by schools.” This is ridiculous. No child should have to die, let alone in this way, in a place where they are supposed to be safe and cared for. I implore all members of the media and bloggers to join me in seeing this through to the end. May his soul find peace at long last.  “My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.”
