Ronaldo removed, Elanga scores- Ronaldo no longer needed in United

Next goal is vital

2-0 is always a precarious scoreline, and the next goal has the power to either kill the game or breath life into a comeback. If United match Leeds’ intensity, as was the case in the first half, the chances of seeing this game out are good.

With the two changes Leeds have made in the second half it is vital that the Reds stem any new found impetus they may add to the hosts.

Raphinha scores

Leeds are level. Two in hardly a minute. United protest at a foul in the build-up before on Bruno Fernandes. VAR reviews but the goal stands. After Fernandes was tackled, Leeds got space on the left side of the box. Dan James crosses for Raphinha to tap home. Work to do for United.

Fred powers United in front

It’s a fantastic move from United. Fred drives forward after Bruno began the move. The Brazilian, just on as a sub, lays it off for Sancho. He holds the ball as Fred makes the run around him, lays it off one further and Fred lashes it past Meslier at the Frenchman’s near post. Get in, Reds!

 Great chance for Elanga

It’s a big moment in the game. United attack brilliantly. Sancho drags United forward across this heavy, waterlogged pitch. He eventually plays it out wide to Elanga on the right side of the box. It’s a bit of a tame effort at Meslier. He saves.

Elanga nutmegs Meslier!

United’s two-goal lead is restored!

Anthony Elanga shushes the Elland Road crowd – who threw coins at him during the celebrations of the third goal – as he wheels away towards the United fans. Fernandes set the goal up with a wonderful flick over his marker, before laying it off for Elanga, who slips it through Meslier’s legs for our fourth goal.
