Earlier this week, some Nigerians were shocked when Olakunle Churchill, a businessman and ex-husband of Tonto Dikeh, confirmed that he was married to another actress and his former personal assistant, Rosy Meurer.

Recall that before their divorce, Dikeh had accused Meurer of having an affair with her husband; a claim Meurer denied at the time. However, early in the week, the entrepreneur penned romantic notes to Meurer on her birthday, describing her as ‘Mrs Churchill’. He wrote, “A special sunrise. On this precious day, a great woman was born. During my hard times when depression would have taken the better part of me, you were my bedrock.

“When it was like the whole world was against me, you stood by me, even took some missiles because of me. When I thought I lost it all, you encouraged me to hope that God would give me back all l lost. Happy birthday, Mrs Churchill. Age with grace. l have got your back 24/7 by the special grace of God.”

Shortly had he made the post than his Instagram account was inundated with comments. His post was also shared on blogs, and attracted a lot of comments, with many bashing Churchill and Meurer for earlier denying their relationship.

Actor, Junior Pope, wrote, “This may be the 21st century but a spade is still a spade, not a shovel. This right here is not a thing to be proud of, sincerely. Where has our conscience gone to? Anyway, what do I know? Let me drink water and mind my family. God is watching the cinema (sic)”.

Singer, Adokiye, also wrote, “So, she even snatched the man and she was denying it then. Please wives, stay away from personal assistants. Mrs. Churchill, I salute you.”

A fan on social media, Elizabeth Odey, wrote, “Some women think they won because they got the guy. Sometimes, the real winner is the woman that walked away.”

Another commentator, Geraldine Fayth wrote, “You made your fellow woman seem like a mad woman. You are here speaking rubbish and playing the victim card.”

On his part, Kokoyate wrote, “Real life is not Nollywood. They (Churchill and Meurer) could go on to have the best marriage, contrary to what some of you might be expecting.”

Vivian Nwagboso wrote, Some of you women are bluntly shameless. Puting tears in the eyes of another woman like you.”
