Shehu Sani urges opposition to stop criticizing Obasanjo for endorsing Peter Obi

Shehu Sani, a former senator, has pleaded with resentful politicians to refrain from criticizing former president Olusegun Obasanjo for endorsing Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the upcoming election.

Recall that Obasanjo said in his New Year’s greeting on Sunday that the former governor of Anambra had an advantage over the other contenders fighting for the position of leader of the country.

The public endorsement has angered supporters of Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival.

Shehu Sani responded to the issues by stating that the former president is entitled to his own opinion and should not be criticized for his decision.
“Obasanjo has made his choice,” Shehu Sani wrote in a post on his official Twitter account. He has a right to an opinion. You shouldn’t attack him.

“Those who are unable to obtain his support should look for Gowon’s, IBB’s, or Abdulsallam’s, as they are equally trustworthy former military and political figures. Also available is Berekete’s regular president.
